TALKING ABT THE MIKU EXPO 2026 SETLIST!!!

Hello everyone my name is Blankiplier and last night the first Miku Expo 2026 show happened in Chicago...so we got to have a look at the SET-LIST!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I am going this year with one of my friends and I am SO FREAKING EXCITED. ACTUALLY I MIGHT CRY.

And of course...I must talk about my thoughts on the set list IMMEDIATELY as I am incredibly cheesed with the results. Guys what is going on IM SO SCARED. I will be skipping over songs I don't know well enough to give thoughts on, but maybe I'll do a re-thunk when I've taken the time to listen to them in prep for the concert :3

THE SETLIST!!!

Off to an INSANE start...I WAS ACTUALLY SO SHOCKED TO SEE THIS ONE ON THE LIST!!! I was obsessed with this song in 2021, so much so it repeated was on my "most played" songs like every single week. To my knowledge, the last time this song was played was Magical Mirai 2017 so I'm actually so happy it's here!!! A few Magical Mirai songs appear to be on the setlist actually which is a pleasant surprise! Especially in the case of another song pick which I WILL talk about just you wait...

This song is great for generating hype and I'm sure will get a lot of people moving esp since it's the second song in the set!! Actually crazy that.

Another one I am SO HAPPY TO SEE!!! It makes sense this one got picked especially considering it fufills the "newer era vocaloid" song criteria while also getting Pinnochio-P in there. This one is extremely common in concerts though, so it wasn't a huuuuge surprise. I do wish the live version of this song had a custom Miku module or more interesting things going on with the visuals of the performance...one of my favorite things about God-Ish is it's MV so I wish they evoked that more live! I'm not upset at all with this pick though! I'm very excited to see this one live..

Obligatory wowaka pick for the set-list, but I was incredibly surprised to see it was this that they chose for it! To my knowledge, they haven't played World's End Dancehall live since 2019 at Magical Mirai, so I'm actually so happy to see it here WHAT!!! My general wowaka guess was gonna be Two-Faced Lovers or Unhappy Refrain, but this one is obviously an oldie but a goodie...oouuugh. I'm really glad they made this the Luka/Miku duet :3 This song was one of the first I listened to when I started seriously getting into vocaloid around 2020, it and most of wowaka's discography mean so much to me!!! YAAAAY

oh my GOODNESS. HELLO. HI? HELLO. WHERE ARE WE. LOVE IS WAR IN 2026. The way I was in awe seeing this on the list. If I am not wrong the last time they played this live was in 2016. TEN YEARS AGO. IT HAS BEEN 10 YEARS SINCE THE LAST LOVE IS WAR PERFORMACE. TEN YEARS. The friend I am going with has this as one of their favorite songs and I am not only so happy for them I am so HAPPY IN GENERAL. LOVE IS WAR IS COMING. LOVE IS WAR. AHHHHUGDHGUHDUFHEHFJFHJSJF

Obviously I can't say much that hasn't already been said about this song. It's a vocaloid staple. It's iconic. In the recording I saw of the chicago setlist I heard this girl scream so LOUD and HIGH and heard people actually chattering to each other in disbelief when this song came on. I am so scared for how I'll react seeing it live. LOVE IS WAR IS COMING. AHHHHH

Another one I was in ACTIVE SHOCK to see. Last time this one was played was in 2019! Patchwork Staccato is a song that means a decent amount to me, it will never not make me emotional 🥹 It is so melancholic yet light and lovely. It also does such a good job humanizing Miku giving her little breaths and ofc the throat clearing oogufksghg.. and the PIANO played in the live version actually tears my heart apart. The instrumental for this one seems phenomonal live and I'm so scared for the impact it'll have on me. I pray they fix the ugly haircut they give Miku's module in this song though. girl put your forehead AWAY

Oh my goodness ANOTHER unexpected yet VEYR WELCOME PICK!!! Drop pop candy is another iconic pick that means a lot to me. This song is well known for being the site of many-a fandom remakes and remixes especially the undertale one. Never forget. The live version also seems to be done a lot of justice too! The choreography is also SOOOO CUUUUTE here. I'm so excited to see this one!! We've been overdue a good Luka/Rin duet..oooouugh. The man I will become when i see this live.

Ok. lets finally address the elephant in the room. What. What. WHAT. WHAT. WHAT.

WHAT. THE FUCK. GUYS

When I tell you I screamed. I FROZE. in SHOCK. when I saw this. My friend texted me the set list when my boyfriend was over and I am so fucking serious when I say I stopped being able to talk for a second. I was in AWE. I could not BELIEVE. MY EYES. OHEDO JULIA NIGHT. MY BIGGEST WISH TO SEE LIVE. IS ON THE 2026 SETLIST. IS THIS A PRANK. ARE WE JOKING? ARE WE SERIOUS? GUYS? GUYS? GUUUUUUUUUYS

Ok. Ohedo Julia Night is my favorite vocaloid song, and has been for years. Of course I have other favorites but Ohedo Julia Night has been one of the most long standing. I was introduced to this song via youtube reccomendations and friend urgings years ago and it has stuck with me for so long. It just embodies so much of the whimsy and joy of vocaloid to me. I'm still pissed it's not in Project Sekai yet. ADD IT. NOW.

This has been my dream pick for a live performance i'd get to see for YEARS. I was jokingly like hahah. I hope they play this one! Knowing full well it's a Magical Mirai song that was last played in 2019, I considered that a bit too fresh/exclusive to be considered for Miku Expo. BOY WAS I WRONG. The other picks also proved this thought train wrong as well but oh my god. OHEDO JULIA NIGHT LIVE. I MIGHT ACTALLY lOSE IT. ohedo julia night is COMING. AHHHHHHHUSGHUDGTFUYWG3YUGRWYF

But yeah! So! I'm very obviously Quite pleased with this pick. I'm still processing it. WHERE AM I. GUYS. LET ME OUT!!!

I was PRAYING this song would return. HOPING WITH ALL MY HEART!!! And I'm so happy to see it did!! OH MY GOOOOSH!!! This is an obvious perfect concert song. It has I'd say one of the most iconic miku chants in modern history and maybe even of all time. Nothing ever BEATS Miku Miku Beam. The way it gets the crowd SCREAMING is unmatched. I saw this video once of a girl praticing the chant very quietly in her room only to full metal SCREECH at the concert. That will be me. I will be that person.

This song live is nothing short of perfection. The outfit. The dance. The PERFECT CHANT ONCE AGAIN. Miku miku beam is sheer. PERFECTION. I didn't know this song very well prior to seeing it live in 2024 so I sadly didn't get to have the full experience so I'm SO HAPPY I get to now!!! Also shout out to the guy in the Chicago recording who's very loudly singing along to the song. I love you and I hope everything goes well for you in life. The sheer joy this song produces is amazing. Genuinely shit that makes me so happy to be alive. #WHIMSY FOREVER!!!

OVERALL THOUGHTS

Man. I love being a vocaloid fan. I cannot understate my excitement for Miku Expo 2026. I will actually cry. My friend is planning to potientially give out stickers w/ me at the concert and I am absolutely going in FULL MIKU GEAR. The outfit will be DRIPPED OUT. We both just bought lightsticks and god I am so hyped. This will actually change my life. Thank you for reading my insane rambling...I AM SO EXCITED FOR MIKU EXPO 2026. AHHHHHH
